Who we are

MaxCap was founded in Melbourne in 2007 by Wayne Lasky 
and Brae Sokolski as a mortgage origination business. Over nearly 
two decades, we’ve expanded across Australia and New Zealand, 
financing projects across every major CRE sector.

In 2021, Apollo Global Management, one of the world’s largest private capital managers, became a strategic partner and 45% equity holder 
in MaxCap. This strategic partnership combines MaxCap’s 
local origination and underwriting capabilities with Apollo’s global platform and expertise.

Our founding partners, Wayne Lasky and Brae Sokolski, retain ownership and operational responsibility.
